Project Type: Co-ed Service Organization

Programs Used: Illustrator, Photoshop

Description: Alpha Phi Omega is rooted in the principles of Leadership, Friendship, and Service - I saw a need for more in our community so I founded the Beyond Words Walk-a-thon to encourage students on campus and those around to 'Go Beyond', to do more for those around them, and to find their passion and allow it to reach others.

Outcome: Over a two year period, focused on Homelessness and Mental Health, our organization was able to complete close to 3,000 service hours with organizations that worked towards the betterment of people dealing with homelessness and mental health. In addition, we raised over $6,000 to give directly to these organizations to assist in their monthly/yearly goals, gave over 250 meals out to a shelter, wrote over 200 letters of motivation for individuals through MoreLoveLetters.Com, and painted over 150 rocks of encouragement to plant around campus and the Lexington area. This event was more than just "branding", it was about getting people together to create more good, to see that their passions can help others, as well.
